Shopify and Squarespace have both been around for over 18 years Squarespace is a jack of all trades
If someone asks to make a website, i will ask have you tried squarespace Shopify is hyper focused on one thing and they are essentially the best at that But that doesn;t mean it is alway better
Some people may want a podcast and a blog and very custom website but they also want to sell online, then maybe squarespace would be better Design
Squarespace is really the king when it comes to website designs and templates
Shopify has 12 free and 171 paid themes/templates (approx. $300)

Squarespace accepts Stripe, PayPal, Squarespace payments, and Square which means visa mastercard amex discover apple pay, JCB, and more
Shopify accepts Shopify Payments and many more like Amazon Pay, Stripe, PayPal, Meta Pay, etc. Shopify has more powerful ecommerce features for sure
Easily sell across multiple channels like Instagram, FB, TikTok

Easier to integrate with POD or dropshipping suppliers on Shopify

Squarespace is better for anyone looking to have a more well rounded website. If you plan to sell a small library of products but also want a blog, a podcast, many beautiful pages, or just a better website in general, Squarespace is the option for you
