For the first time in three years, ChatGPT isn't the number one AI platform for marketers. The 3rd Annual AI Marketing Industry Report just dropped, and it asked marketers one question: what's the single most important AI platform you're using? Last year it was ChatGPT. This year? Claude. Two years ago, 68% of marketers said ChatGPT was their number one platform. Claude was at 5%. This year, Claude is number one at 42%, and ChatGPT is at 39%. The numbers have flipped. I've been a Claude user for a long time, and even I was surprised. Here's where it gets really interesting: Claude tripled its marketer base — from 18% two years ago to 65% today. And 68% of marketers say they want to learn more about how to use Claude. The more experienced the marketer, the stronger the pattern: among those with three or more years of AI experience, 76% are using Claude. I've been saying for a while that someday we'd look back and go, "Remember that thing called ChatGPT?" — because some other player was going to pop up and change everything.
