I thought AI was going to free up my time. Instead, I'm waking up at 4:30 a.m. and working until 7 at night — almost every day. But here's the thing. I'm not stressed. I'm not burned out. I'm excited. AI has turned into this creative playground I haven't felt since I was a kid. Every morning I wake up and can't wait to log into Claude and start building. Ideas that used to just sit in my head? They're becoming real things. Fast. I posted about this on social media recently. Asked, "Am I alone here? Is anyone else working crazy long hours because of AI?" And the responses floored me. A lot of people said, "No, you're not alone." Here's what I think is happening. For those of us who are middle-aged, going from idea to reality used to feel nearly impossible. You had to hire people, find the resources, figure out how. Now? You can build a plan. Execute a plan. Make the thing. My output has probably 10x'd — and it's not junk. I'm doing work at a level I've never done before, all enabled by this tool we call AI. A lot of people don't get it yet. They haven't had that unlock — that moment where the key turns and everything opens up. But it happened for me, and I'm telling you it can happen for you too. This is Mike Thoughts from the Porch.
